What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is the hands-on treatment of the body’s soft tissues. It involves using different pressures, movements, and techniques to manipulate the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and connective tissue (fascia) of the body. By using a variety of manual techniques, therapeutic massage can help to release stress and tension, reduce pain, provide relaxation, and enhance overall wellness. Massage therapy can be used to heal both acute and chronic injuries, and is an excellent form of preventative healthcare.
What is Cupping?
Cupping is an ancient medicine modality that is used by creating a negative pressure that creates a suction which lifts the skin, muscle & fascia. When this suction is created, it helps move stagnation (where there is stagnation, there is generally pain).
Cupping increases blood flow, oxygen & Qi (energy), which in turn helps alleviate pain, loosen muscles, promotes relaxation, also great for anxiety, fatigue and boost the immune system. Cupping also promotes a detoxification process, as toxins are eliminated via the veins and arteries. There are different types of cupping available, I can provide silicone or fire cupping to my massage treatments.
What is lymphatic drainage?
Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a special technique that helps to move lymphatic fluid along its drainage pathways. The lymphatic system is very superficial, just below the skin, so it requires very light, fine movements to move lymph fluid.
Lymphatic drainage therapy can provide many benefits including the boosting of your immune system, reduction of water retention, reduce joint pain and overall detoxification of the body.
